MAN CAUGHT WITH WEAPONS TRYING TO STEAL SCRAP METAL

A man was caught trying to steal scrap metal. Lower Township Police say that Robert Edwards, of the 100 Block of Greenwood Avenue in the Villas was charged in the incident. Police found him in possession of a samurai sword, a highly sharpened machete, a black jack, a large dagger, numerous throwing spikes, a hatchet and other knives inside of his vehicle. The incident took place at the water tower at the Cape May County Airport. He was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief, Possession of Prohibited Weapons, along with drug possession charges. Bail was set at $50,000.
