MAN ADMITS ATTEMPTED MURDER ON POLICE OFFICER

An Atlantic City man said on Monday he tried to kill a police officer in the resort. The Press of Atlantic City reports that Gerald Spivey admitted his guilt to attempted murder charges. He now faces up to 20 years in prison and will have to serve 85 percent of that sentence before parole becomes an option. Sentencing will take place on June 18. Spivey said he pointed a gun at a police officer and shot more than one time.
