LOWER TOWNSHIP POLICE OFFICER ASSAULTED, ARREST MADE

Lower_Township_PoliceLower Township Police have announced the arrest of a local man on charges that he allegedly assaulted a police officer.  Police announced that charges have been filed against 20 year old Barret Brown, who lives on Hereford Avenue in Cape May Court House.  Police say that Special Officer Kevin Boyle responded to a call of a large fight at Teal and Holmes Avenue in North Cape May on Friday, October 1st.  While breaking up the fight, Boyle was allegedly assaulted by Brown.  While Brown was being escorted to a police vehicle, he allegedly spit blood from his mouth onto Boyle.  Brown has been charged with one count of aggravated assault against a police officer, and three counts of throwing bodily fluids on an officer.  Bail was set at the county jail at $15,000 cash.
