Lower Township Police have announced the arrest of a North Cape May man on charges that he picked up a shotgun while having a verbal argument inside a home. On Tuesday morning, police were called to a home located in the 100 block of Fieldview Drive in North Cape May. A juvenile called police, saying a man had gone upstairs in the home to retrieve a shotgun. Police arrived and eventually arrested 34 year old James A. Morris, who was involved in a domestic argument with a woman inside the home. Police say Morris went upstairs to get a 12-gauge shotgun. Police surrounded the home, and eventually made the arrest. Morris was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. He has been charged with mutiple offenses, including possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, which is a 2nd degree crime.
