LOWER TOWNSHIP COUNCIL SET TO APPROVE FIREWORKS

Lower Township’s council is expected to approve a resolution that will result in a big fireworks display on the July 4th weekend in the community.  The township council is expected to approve a deal with “Fireworks by Grucci” to load a fireworks barge in Lower Township.  Some businesses and organizations stepped up and made donations for the big fireworks display since the Delaware River and Bay Authority was unable to finance a fireworks display for Lower Township this year.  Council may also approve a resolution that would result in an official endorsement of Governor Christie’s proposal for a 2.5 percent cap on annual property tax increases.  That measure is expected to be debated in the legislature on Monday.
