LOWER TOWNSHIP CANCELS MEETING

They didn’t have enough members of council to hold a meeting. Mayor Mike Beck and Councilman Glenn Douglass made the decision to stick it out and wait to see whether the Republican committee’s selection for a vacate council seat would join the meeting and take the oath of office immediately to have a quorum. Councilmen Kevin Lare and Tom Conrad were away on vacation. Beck expressed his displeasure with having members of the public waiting for no meeting. A special meeting will have to be held by the end of the month, according to the by-laws of the township.

Below is a clip of Manager Mike Voll and Mayor Mike Beck explaining the situation to those in attendance prior to a vote being made by the Republican committee.
