LOWER TOWNSHIP: BECK ASKS COUNCIL TO CONSIDER MOVING POLICE DEPARTMENT

Discussion took place on Monday night regarding possible moving the police station in Lower Township. Mayor Mike Beck asked council to discuss the matter at a future meeting. Councilman Tom Conrad told Coastal Broadcasting that he has reservations about the savings associated with moving the police out of the public safety building, which the township has a 99-year lease for from the county, but is willing to look at whether it will save the taxpayers any money. The movement of the police department has been a topic of discussion for some time in the township.
