LONEGAN PULLS IN CHRISTIE’S ENDORSEMENT FOR U.S. SENATE

They once were rivals, now they are forced together. Gov. Chris Christie endorsed Steve Lonegan for the special election for the U.S. Senate seat in Oct. The two faced each other in the Republican primary of 2009, which Christie won on his way to being elected governor. Lonegan will face Newark Mayor Cory Booker on Oct. 16 for the seat formerly head by the late Frank Lautenberg. Christie waited until after the GOP primary to make his selection.
