LOCAL BEACH PATROLS BEGIN TO TRIM COVERAGE DUE TO RETURN TO SCHOOL

Beach patrols throughout southern New Jersey are losing lifeguards as guards return to college and high school.  The Wildwood Crest Beach Patrol announced that it will provide full coverage through Labor Day Monday, and again the following weekend.  Only five beaches will be guarded during the week between both weekends.   Some local beach patrols have only one guard on the stand instead of two for late summer coverage.
