FROM:  Bob Maschio, 1st Ward Councilman, North Wildwood

RE:  Request for addition to council agenda

DATE:  October 5th, 2010

Patrick:

I am writing this letter to formally ask for an addition to our council agenda for the meeting of 10/19/10.

I would like council to formally discuss before the public a proposal that would eliminate health insurance benefits for elected officials in the city of North Wildwood.  As you know, the financial pressures on local governments around the State of New Jersey have never been greater, especially with the new two percent cap that was recently signed into law and the fact that we are going to begin the property re-assessment here in North Wildwood.  It is my personal belief that council should have open dialogue about this subject during the next council meeting.

Families in North Wildwood are being asked everyday to do more with less, and I believe city council can set a tremendous example by considering this proposal which would save taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars.

Sincerely,

Robert Maschio

Councilman, 1st Ward

Cc:  Mayor William Henfey

Members of North Wildwood City Council

        Ray Townsend, Administrator.
