Ever take the time to read legal notices in the newspaper? Most people don’t, and now lawmakers may wipe out a requirement that municipalities and government agencies run legal notices in local newspapers. The bill is scheduled for a vote on Monday and it would allow governments instead to post these notices on websites. This would save local towns money since they have to pay for the space in newspapers. The newspaper industry has come out vehemently against the plan.
