LAYOFF NOTICES SENT OUT TO POLICE OFFICES IN MILLVILLE

The layoffs of police officers in Millville is official. The News of Cumberland County reports that the layoff notices have been handed out. Nine officers and one dispatcherwill be let go as a result of budget cuts in the community. Millville’s government is cutting across departments in an attempt to avoid a tax increase. The report says Police Benevolent Association Local 213 President Anthony Loteck said that the department was already four below the 87 officers the department should have.
