LAUTENBERG: STATE WOULD LOSE $300 MILLION IF TUNNEL PROJECT IS CALLED OFF

225px-LautenbergIf the Hudson River tunnel project is called off, the state will have to pay back $300 million. United States Senator Frank Lautenberg said that on Thursday warning the state it is a bad idea to cancel the project. The work is running over budget and some think Gov. Chris Christie will take the money the state has committed and put it into the Transportation Trust Fund. Christie has not yet made a final decision on what to do with the tunnel work.
