LARGE MARIJUANA SEIZURE RESULTS FROM VEHICLE STOP

A large amount of marijuana was found following a motor vehicle stop. Lower Township Police say they say a lighted cigar like object thrown from the vehicle prior to the stop. An officer then observed loose green vegetation, believed to be marijuana, on the driver’s lap and a hand rolled cigar or blunt, on the floor board by the front seat passenger.

A search of the vehicle then yielded two large bags containing suspected Marijuana, a pipe, a grinder and a bottle of whiskey.

At that time, the driver identified as Dominic Fiorentino, age 19 of the 200 Block of Florida Avenue, Villas, and the passenger, identified as James Monaghan, age 18 of the 400 Block of East Miami Avenue, Villas, were placed under arrest and transported to the Lower Township Police Department where they were both charged with Possession of Marijuana over 50 gms. and Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute.

In addition, Fiorentino was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of an Alcoholic Beverage While Under Legal Age, along with motor vehicle summonses for Unsafe Window Glazing, Open Alcoholic Container in a Motor Vehicle and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.
