KEY DEMOCRAT PUSHES FOR MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE

oliverWorking on minimum wage may net you more in 2012. New Jersey Assembly Speaker Shelia Oliver said this week she would like to see the minimum wage raised in the state and it will be a major goal for her. The state minimum is equal to federal law at $7.25. Oliver said she would like to see that number go up to $8.50. Senate President Steve Sweeney has said he would support the measure. Gov. Chris Christie has yet to comment.
