INVESTIGATION CONTINUES INTO MAINLAND TRAGEDY

250px-New_Jersey_State_PoliceNew Jersey State Police are continuing their investigation into Saturday’s accident on the Garden State Parkway that killed four members of the Mainland Regional High School football team.  Police said today that five of the eight students riding in the SUV that flipped on the Parkway were not wearing safety belts; two teens who died in the accident were using seat belts.  Police are still trying to figure out how fast the vehicle was going before the accident.  Authorities believe the driver of the vehicle attempted to slow down to avoid traffic that had stopped, and flipped the vehicle.
