HOMELAND SECURITY DIRECTOR SAYS STATE HAS LEARNED MANY LESSONS

mckennaLessons learned. That was the message from the state’s Homeland Security Director Charles McKenna. McKenna did an interview with the newest show on Fun 106.7, “In Depth,” where he said many of the communication errors that took place prior to 9/11 have been fixed and showed during Hurricane Irene. McKenna credited the willingness for agencies to work with other agencies for the betterment of the people and laws being put in place that ease the share of that information. McKenna said in the interview that if Hurricane Irene happened 15 years ago, the state would not have been nearly as prepared as they were this time.
