A home invasion in Woodbine led to seven total arrests by State Police. Initial reports were that two men entered a home on Bryant St., one armed with a gun and one with a stick. Three occupants in the home were held at gun point, while one was struck with both weapons. They were robbed of stealing cash, jewelry, and a video game system.
After responding to a 911 call, Assad Price, 19, of Jefferson St. was arrested on an unrelated theft charge and police found evidence on him related to home invasion.
The investigation continued where an obstruction and marijuana possession arrest was made on Jesus Rodriguez, 22, of De Hirsch Avenue in Woodbine. Three more people related to home invasion were arrested there, including 20-year-old Christopher Kelly, of Lower Township, a 16-year-old Woodbine boy who is believed to have entered the home, and Wilfredo Rosa, 19, of Woodbine. Additional evidence was found there, including the gun believed to be used in the robbery. Police also arrested Benjamin Smith, 22,
At the police station, Assad Price and the 16-year-old boy tried to escape the station but were unsuccessful.
Additionally, a 16-year-old girl was arrested on a obstruction charge.
Girl was arrested on obstruction, 16-year-old; as was Jesus Rodriguez, who was also charged with marijuana possession. The two were released on their own recognizance.
Bail was set at $150,000 for those associated with the home invasion.
The 16-year-old boy was sent to the Cumberland County Juvenile Detention Center. The remaining people were placed in the Cape May County Jail.
