HEARING TO BE HELD MONDAY ON HEALTH BENEFITS AND PENSION REFORMS

A small step forward was taken towards reforms to health benefits and pensions. Key Assembly Democrats announced a hearing is going to take place on Monday on the issue. Many Democrats have been critical of the bills, saying it strips away the collective bargaining rights of workers. Gov. Chris Christie and Senate President Steve Sweeney came together on a compromise bill that would reform both areas for public workers and save the state money.
