HALF SUPPORT CHARGING SALES TAX WITH ONLINE PURCHASES

A new poll shows support for charging sales tax for online purchases made in the state. The Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind poll says that 50 percent support, while 42 percent don’t. This comes to bear with a company like Amazon starting to charge sales tax because they now have a physical presence in New Jersey. Companies that don’t technically don’t have to charge sales tax, thus giving them an advantage over brick and mortar companies in the state.
