GWTIDA: 2010 WAS A GOOD YEAR FOR WILDWOODS TOURISM

The Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority says the 2010 tourism season in the Wildwoods was very good for the local economy.  The authority held a special event at the Convention Hall Tuesday to discuss the revenues for the year.  The local two percent tourism tax collection that’s levied on hotel and motel rooms, along with food and beverage in the Wildwoods was up by six percent over the same figures posted in 2009.  The collection rate on this tax for 2010 was the fourth-highest figure over the past 11 years.
