GUILTY VERDICT RETURNED IN SEXUAL ASSAULT CASE

An Atlantic County jury convicted a 35-year-old Egg Harbor Township man of two counts of sexual assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, for committing acts upon a 12-year-old girl from December 2008 through February 2009, Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel stated on Friday.
On diverse dates between Dec. 1, 2008 and Feb. 18, 2009 while in Egg Harbor
Township, Kevin Dao committed sexual assaults upon the child. Dao was taken into custody on Feb. 21, 2009 and indicted in 2010, according to First Assistant Prosecutor James P. McClain, who represented the state.
The Judge granted the state’s request and the defendant was remanded to the county jail without bail.
Sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child are crimes of the second-degree, and carry a maximum prison term of 10 years and a $150,000 fine.
