A Camden County man entered a guilty plea to third-degree stalking of his former neighbor, thereby violating a previous court order that he have no contact with her, Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel stated.

As a result of his plea, Richard J. Michetti Jr., 40, of Mount Laurel, will be subject to a permanent restraining order that protects the stalking victim for the duration of the defendant’s life, according to Assistant Prosecutor Anne Crater, who represented the

An Atlantic County Grand Jury indicted Michetti on Feb. 23, 2011 after he caused the victim fear and emotional distress by committing various acts of harassment in Maple Shade, Cinnaminson and Brigantine. During the plea hearing the defendant admitted to cursing at the victim for seeking a restraining order and taking him to the Cinnaminson Municipal Court, Assistant Prosecutor Crater said.

The defendant will be sentenced on Sept. 23.
