GRANT MAY SAVE JOBS WITH ATLANTIC CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT

A new report says the Atlantic City Fire Department is applying for a grant to try and save jobs in the their department. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the department applied for the SAFER grant, which is short for Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response.The report says the department applied for $9.7 million, which would allow for anyone who lost their job to be hired back. In total, it would cover 51 positions for two years, for pay, benefits, and overtime.
