GONE FOR THE YEAR: EAGLES LOSE NATE ALLEN

Nate AllenThe Philadelphia Eagles have lost their best rookie player for the rest of the season, and the playoffs.  Coach Andy Reid announced today that safety Nate Allen is gone for the season after Allen ruptured a patellar tendon in his knee.  Allen blew out the knee as he was attempting to make a play in the Eagles’ 38-31 win over the Giants on Sunday.  Wide receiver Jason Avant also suffered a mild concussion during the game.
