GOING UP: LOWER TOWNSHIP COUNCIL RAISES VARIOUS FEES

The Lower Township Council held a meeting Monday night and formally approved raising various fees in the community.  Officials have approved a plan that would result in commercial businesses paying for trash pickup during 2011; after 2011, the township will get out of the business of commercial trash pickup.  The township believes that a one-year charge for commercial trash pickup will generate money for the community, and give the businesses a year to find a trash hauler.  Various recreation fees are going up, along with the fee to use the township pool.  That fee will go up by one dollar, to three dollars.
