GILLIAN WINS MAYOR'S SEAT IN OCEAN CITY

A local businessman, Jay Gillian, is the new mayor of Ocean City. Mayor Sal Perillo decided to not run for reelection and Gillian has stepped into the job thanks to 63 percent of voter support in the resort. Michael Hinchman ran against Gillian and only garnered 37 percent of the vote. Michael J. Allegretto, Scott Ping, and Keith Hartzell all won the open council seats as well. The race was tight, with Ping beating out Frank McCall by 14 votes.
