GAY MARRIAGE DEALT A BLOW, SUPREME COURT WON’T HEAR CASE

The state’s Supreme Court decided to not hear a case filed by six same-sex couples, who were looking to get married. The court said at this time it will not hear the matter, but said it could be refiled in Superior Court and perhaps make its way back up again. The gay marriage movement has been derailed in New Jersey as of late. Legislation could not be passed on the issue before Gov. Chris Christie took office, who said he would veto any such bill that came before him. Gay marriage supporters say that civil unions do not go far enough and do not provide the necessary protections.
