A major fundraiser will be hitting Sea Isle City this weekend. The Michael Fisher Foundation Run/Walk in Sea Isle City will raise money for pediatric cardiology and children with heart defects. Michael Fisher’s parents decided to honor his memory by making sure other parents don’t live their nightmare. Michael died at 15 while playing hockey at the Dennis Township Recreation Center in South Dennis.
A sophomore at Cape May County Technical High School in the allied medicine program, Michael was diagnosed at age 4 with a congenital heart defect known as sub aortic stenosis. He received annual tests to monitor the condition, which occurs when a thin membrane starts to form at the bottom of the sub aortic valve.
