FUEL SURCHARGE ADDED TO FERRY VEHICLE TRIPS

If you plan on using the Cape May Lewes Ferry this year with your vehicle, get ready to pay a little bit more money.  The Delaware River and Bay Authority announced today that a brand new two dollar per crossing surcharge will be added for all trips on the ferry when you bring your vehicle on board.  The new surcharge goes into effect this Friday, April 1st and is expected to continue until at least the end of April, 2012.  Ferry officials say the fare hike is tied exclusively to the rising costs of fuel and will not apply to foot passengers.  If fuel prices go down, it’s possible the authority will eliminate the fuel surcharge.
