FORMER REPUBLICAN SENATE CANDIDATE JEFF BELL, 74

A longtime New Jersey republican who was his party’s nominee for a United States Senate seat twice has died at the age of 74.  Jeff Bell died Saturday night; he was a former speech writer for President Ronald Reagan.
