High-dose flu vaccines and pneumonia vaccines will be available for seniors 65 years and older beginning next week.
Special senior clinics that will offer high-dose flu and pneumonia vaccine are scheduled for:
– Tuesday, September 20th from 1-4pm at the Lower Township Senior Center
– Tuesday, September 27th from 9-11am at the Upper Township Senior Center
– Tuesday, October 4th from 9-11 at the Ocean City Senior Center
– Thursday, October 6th and Wednesday October 12thfrom 10-12 at the Cape May County Department of Health
The high-dose vaccine is available at no cost for persons who have the following insurance as their primary payer: Medicare Part B, Aetna, Humana, and United Mine Workers of America. Otherwise, it is available for $45 (check or credit card). A receipt will be provided that can be submitted to other insurance companies for reimbursement. The pneumonia vaccine is available for $15 (cash or check). Residents should bring their Medicare cards and supplemental insurance cards to the clinic. The standard-dose flu vaccine will not be offered at the senior clinics, but is available at no cost at the other public clinics. Consent forms for senior clinics are only available onsite.
