FLAG CEREMONG TO BE HELD TO REMEMBER SEPT. 11 ATTACKS

The Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement & Development Authority, in conjunction with Sunset Beach Gifts and the Cape May County Fire Chiefs Association, will host a Patriot Flag Ceremony at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30 inside the Wildwoods Convention Center’s main exhibit hall.

The Patriot Flag is a 50’x40’ American Flag that will fly in all 50 States in 50 Weeks leading up to the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

The ceremony will honor the fallen from September 11, 2001, along with First & Second Responders to Ground Zero from South Jersey. The ceremony will include a Presentation of Colors from the US Coast Guard, Wildwood Post 184 and the Wildwoods Cub Scout Pack 184; words from a representative from the United States Coast Guard and Chief Connie Johnson, Wildwood Fire and Cape May County Fire Marshal; the raising of the Patriot Flag; music from the Lower Township High School Marching Band; and proclamations from the U.S. Congress and Senate of the state of New Jersey.
