FIVE RESCUED AFTER BOAT CAPSIZES BEHIND AVALON TUESDAY NIGHT

Five people were rescued after their boat accidentally capsized in the waterway behind 24th Street in Avalon Tuesday evening.  Avalon Police report that a resident and his son used their own personal boat to rescue the five individuals.  The boat flipped after the operator throttled the engine, the boat took on water, and turned over.  All five people were treated at the scene by the Avalon Rescue Squad.
