FERRIS WHEEL REOPENED AT MOREY’S PIERS, NEW SAFETY RULES IN PLACE

The ferris wheel is now reopened at Morey’s Piers. There are new safety requirements added to the ride, which makes the new height requirement at 60 inches, compared to 54 inches previously. The response comes from the death of an 11-year-old girl from Pleasantville that fell off the ride to her death. An investigation showed no mechanical failure to Morey’s Piers, but the state came up with new requirements to help avoid an incident like this in the future. Also, two people must be on each gondola. A single rider was allowed on previously.
