Federal disaster assistance has topped $230 million from Hurricane Irene. The follow details have been released from FEMA about the assistance:
– 46,387 registrations have been approved for assistance, averaging more than 680 households per day since the disaster declaration on Aug. 31.
– More than $141 million in Housing Assistance for housing-related needs and repairs.
– More than $74 million in U.S. Small Business Administration low-interest disaster loans to nearly 1,711 households and businesses, averaging more than $35,000 per household, and nearly $107,700 per business.
