FEMA ANNOUNCES AID HAS TOPPED $250 MILLION TO NEW JERSEY

Just prior to the final day that you can apply for federal disaster aid relating to Hurricane Irene, the Federal Emergency Management Agency announced that federal aid has already topped $256 million to New Jersey. Not all public assistance projects resulting from the disaster are completed. FEMA picks up 75 percent of the cost and the remainder is paid for by the state and local governments. Wednesday is the final day to apply for aid.
