FEDS AWARD NEW JERSEY $38 MILLION FOR EDUCATION

New Jersey won almost $38 million to help fund education in the state. The Associated Press reports that the federal funding was awarded by the Education Department’s  federal “Race to the Top” money. Only seven states were awarded funding from this program, and Pennsylvania received $41.3 million. States competing for the money must be committed to making changes and turning around under-performing schools.
