FAMILY SAYS MAN IN HAMMONTON STAND OFF HAD AN EMPTY GUN

The man who was killed on Monday in a stand off with police is said to have had an empty gun. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the family of Donald Hoffman claims he had an unloaded gun with him. The report says Hoffman was described as schizophrenic. The state’s Attorney’s General office is investigating the incident. There were no hostages being held inside of the home where the stand off was taking place, yet deadly force was used when Hoffman was shot dead.
