FALLEN LOWER TWP. OFFICER TO BE HONORED ON FRIDAY

This Friday will mark the 17th anniversary of the death of Lower Township Police Officer David Douglass. The Lower Township Police Department announced that a remembrance will be held in Douglass’ memory during the day on Friday. At 10:00am, the public is invited to a flag raising ceremony at the Town Bank Volutneer Fire Department, with refreshments to follow. A wreath will also be placed at the flagpole at the fire department. Later in the evening at 7:15pm, all fire sirens in the township will blare as a tribute to Douglass. Douglass was killed after he exchanged gunfire with a crime suspect on February 18th, 1994. The suspect burglarized a local home, and set it on fire. Douglass was also a member of the Town Bank Fire Department.
