FAKE MISSIONARY SCAMS WOMAN IN ABSECON

An elderly woman was scammed out of $5,000 by a fake missionary in the Absecon ShopRite parking on Oct. 21st. The man claimed to be a missionary from Africa, in the United States for charity work, and asked for a $5,000 donation. In exchange he would give her $35,000 which he was required to give away to charity and she could then donate to her church. The man was described as black, clean shaven and in his forties with a foreign accent.
