Efforts to save the final Catholic school in Salem County have failed. A community group in the county attempted to raise a half million dollars in order to preserve the Bishop Guilfoyle Regional Catholic School, but failed to do so. That means the last Catholic school in Salem County will shut down for good on June 18th. Bishop Joseph Galante wrote a letter to the group, thanking it for the initiative that attempted to keep the school open. The Diocese reversed a decision regarding Wildwood Catholic High School, and that school will be open again in the fall.
