All weather forecast models show Hurricane Earl avoiding New Jersey. The projected path keeps the storm out to sea. The biggest concern the state will likely face is rip currents and potentially heavy surf. The storm may make landfall in North Carolina, but will likely turn northeast and avoid New Jersey. Anything can happen with a storm of his magnitude, but forecast models show it staying off the state’s coast.
