DOW OFFERS HELP FROM UEZ LAW ENFORCEMENT CONCERNS

The attorney general offered her assistance to areas where Urban Enterprise Zone dollars help fund public safety jobs. Paula Dow sat before the Assembly Budget Committee on Wednesday and said she would work with Gov. Chris Christie on a way to resolve a growing concern across the state. Christie’s budget proposal calls for the state to hold onto all UEZ dollars. Areas like Millville/Vineland, where a UEZ zone exists, is that some of the money that stayed locally helped to fund police officer jobs. Dow said she is committed to working on this issue with the Governor’s Office.
