DISCUSSION BEGINS ON BINDING REPEALING BINDING ARBITRATION

120px-Seal_of_New_Jersey_svgMayors made their case for an end to binding arbitration in the Statehouse on Thursday. Some mayors proposed a two percent cap on salary increases for police and paid firefighters. The idea behind this would be to put the salary increases in line with the state imposed two percent cap on property tax increases. Union officials said this would require givebacks and felt unfair to its members. No vote was taken during the meeting. The topic was put up for discussion only.
