DEVELOPING STORY: NJ SENATE WON’T VOTE ON CURRENT GAS TAX PLAN

As of early Thursday afternoon, no vote on a plan to implement a 23-cent tax hike for gasoline to finance the Transportation Trust Fund.  Senators in Trenton refused to vote on the measure despite bipartisan support and support from Governor Christie.  Senators may come up with their own draft legislation.  The gas tax increase was supposed to be offset by a one percent drop in the sales tax.  Further updates are expected on this story throughout the day.
