DEP: CAPE TOWNS NEED TO DRAFT BEACH ACCESS PLANS

Officials from Cape May County are being asked to draft their own beach access plans to serve as a model for the rest of the state.  The Cape May County Conference of Mayors met on Wednesday in West Cape May and heard from officials from the New Jersey DEP on the new beach access plans that will involve local input.  DEP officials admit there are few to none beach access problems in Cape May County; those issues exist in the rest of the state.  Avalon successfully sued the DEP over an issue involving statewide regulations that the DEP drafted and were shot down in court.
