Democrats in Trenton are prepared to introduce a brand new property tax cap during a legislative session on Monday. Senate President Steve Sweeney wants to drop the cap from four percent annually to just 2.9 percent. Republican Governor Chris Christie disagrees, saying the cap should be approved by voters, and set at 2.5 percent. Sweeney says democrats approved a four percent cap that works, and believes that lawmakers will get it below 2.5 percent before their work is finished.
