DEMOCRATS UNSUCCESSFUL TO RESTORE BUDGET CUTS

An effort to override vetoes by Gov. Chris Christie to the state budget were unsuccessful.. More votes will take place on Tuesday. Democrats are upset with the cuts that were made by Christie, that took about $1 billion out of the budget. Democrats say that the dollars were coming out of the surplus and would not impact taxpayers. Republican would have to break ranks with the governor to give Democrats the few votes they needed, but only got one vote on one cut.
