DEMOCRATIC LAWMAKERS WANT RIVERA-SOTO TO STEP DOWN

rivera-sotoA number of lawmakers are hoping that state Supreme Court Justice Roberto Rivera-Soto will step down. A resolution has been drafted that will ask for Rivera-Soto to step down from his seat. The judge has said he will not rule on any cases while one of the seats remains vacant. Gov. Chris Christie did not renominate Justice John Wallace Jr. and instead tried to nominate Anne Paterson. Senate President Steve Sweeney refused to give her a hearing and no confirmation process took place. Now Rivera-Soto says because of that action, he refuses to adhere to the responsibilities of his job.
